On this, the 246th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America, all of us at the Nebraska State Fire Marshal Agency wish all of Nebraska and the Nation a very happy Independence Day.

On July 4, 1776 the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence, laying the foundations for the first country in world history that would value freedom, liberty, and the consent of the citizen over the power of the government. 

Enjoy the day, be safe, and take a moment to be thankful that you live in the greatest state, in the greatest country in the world.
